Look no further than Kartauserhof's 2005 Gruner Veltliner Steinterrassen. This wine is intense and powerful, with deep flavors of grapefruit, apricot, pear tart and white pepper. Spice, creaminess, and acidity create an almost perfect balance. Only 600 cases produced from a steep-sloped, low-yield, old-vine plot. Uncanny minerality juxtaposed with lemon and green apple notes makes for the perfect aperitif, shellfish or spicy-fusion-cuisine white wine.

The Wall Street Journal just awarded a "VERY GOOD" to the basic Kartauserhof Gruner Veltliner, considering it one of the top six wines of more than 50 wines tasted! Image how this single-vineyard version would have compared! Best of tasting--we certainly think so!
