Takler Heritage is not what you might expect of Bikaver, which Takler Heritage technically is. The days of "Bull's Blood" are history for this region of Hungarian winemaking in general, but certainly if you're dealing with renowned winemaker Ferenc Takler. Takler Cellars is a boutique estate located in a beautiful and quaint Hungarian village environment. The winery is known for its perfectionist mentality. The ever-energetic and enthusiastic Ferenc Takler produces full bodied, velvety red wines with sons Ferenc Jr. and Andras. The family now owns thirty-five hectares of land in nine different areas of Szekszard, providing a diversity of soil and climate conditions. This Bikaver red blend is 38% Kékfrankos, 25% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Kadarka.

Takler Heritage is ruby red in color with hints of berries and bing cherries giving way to rich, ripe red fruit, tobacco and a touch of pepper. It is medium-full in body with moderate acidity and elegant tannins. Oak is carefully balanced to maintain the characteristic rounded and complex fruit flavors of Taklers's wines. Well balanced with a long, rich finish.

Takler Heritage should be served with steak and all types of red meat, especially game. Terrific with spicy sauces and Asian cuisine. Try a bottle with BBQ ribs!
