Rias Baixas, Spain

Peitan Albariño is a delightful white wine that is the perfect accompaniment to seafood. We find this grape varietal is Spain's answer to the Viognier grape of Condrieu fame. This is the first release of this stainless-steel fermented wine, created by winemaker Alistair Gardner for Vina Nora. The winery is owned by Javier Allen, the well-respected Galician producer of Vina Mein, and Victor Rodriguez, former director of Vino y Gastronomia.

Peitan Albarino is amber in color with an aromatic nose of honeysuckle, peach, apple, hazelnut, and mineral notes. Full-bodied with moderate acidity, it is a dry wine with a perceived sweetness of fruit. It offers flavors of peaches, apricots, lemon, honeysuckle and pears, with no oak. It is beautifully balanced to enjoy in its youth, over the next 3-4 years. The wine coats the palate on the finish with long-lasting flavors.
