The Wine Enthusiast raved about 1999 Musella Amarone, awarding it 93 points: "Finely textured with exemplary aromatics. The bouquet is graced by cola, black licorice, marzipan, pipe tobacco and other alluring smells in addition to pure, dark fruit notes. Flashy and smooth in the mouth, where the berry and prune notes are touched up by leather and spice. Just right, with more potential if given a few more years of cellar time."

The 2003 is equally impressive, if not more so, AGAIN GARNERING 93 POINTS in the October, 2007 issue of Wine Enthusiast. Musella Amarone della Valpolicella is a rising star in this famous Veneto appellation. Azienda Agricola Musella dates to the 17th century. Just outside Verona, on the hills of San Martino Buon Albergo, lies Tenuta Musella, one of the most beautiful and historical estates of the Veneto region, stretching over 300 hectares. The winemaking process for Amarone is unique, selecting only the outer grapes, drying them over the winter months, slowly fermenting, then aging several years in oak barrels. This wine is a Gambero Rosso 2 Bicchieri award winner.

Musella Amarone della Valpolicella is deep ruby red in color with full body, rich texture, and ripe acidity. On the nose, there is a rich bouquet of blackberries, candied fruit, cedar, leather, chocolate, and spice. Black raspberry, black fruits, cedar, coffee and spice flavors are enhanced by vanillan oak nuances from aging in French oak. Rich and voluptuous, this wine is beautifully balanced to enjoy now or to cellar for 15-20 years. It is velvety and rich on the long finish.
