Maison Champy has done it again. Last year's 96 POINT Wine Spectator rated 2004 Mazis Chambertin is followed by the 2005 release, with the following glowing review from Wine Spectator: "Concentrated and monolithic now, this is packed with wild blackberry, raspberry and sweet leather notes, with a mineral streak underneath. It's supported by rich tannins and a long, spicy finish. 94 POINTS."

Alan Meadows of Burghound, perhaps THE MOST respected Burgundy critic, writes: "This too is presently marked by its wood yet here there seems to be less of a push/pull between which element, the fruit or the wood, has center stage as the dark berry and moderately sauvage aromas are given precedence. The rich, full and sleekly muscled flavors possess real depth and buckets of sap that buffer the firm and powerful finishing tannins. This will require at least a decade, and probably longer, to really strut its considerable stuff."
