Look no further than Kartauserhof's 2006 Zweigelt, an exuberant, super juicy red remeniscent of great Beaujolais with a touch of Syrah thrown in. Packed with jammy red fruit, Kartauserhof Zweigelt is a great companion to all your summer cook outs--equally well suited to a burger as it is to a tuna steak.

Zweigelt as a red wine grape variety was developed in 1922, at the Federal Institute for Viticulture and Pomology at Klosterneuburg, Austria, by Fritz Zweigelt (who was later to become the director of this institute). It is a crossing of Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, and is now the most widely-grown red grape variety in Austria--Kartauserhof's example is arguably the most exciting expression we've tasted in a while.



"Case discount price" reflects a 10% case discount (5% on Sparkling Wines) for any mixed-case purchase of 12 bottles or more shipped to a single address. "Special prices" (e.g. on gift sets) are final prices for any order, and these bottles also count toward a 12-bottle minimum to qualify for a case discount.
