Generally, Petite Sirah falls into two categories: light, inexpensive, and hardly indicative of the tremendous potential this rather scarce varietal has to offer, or extremely well-made, juicy, dense, dark & brooding, but sadly also very expensive. JT Petite Sirah is the answer to that quandary: although under 500 cases were produced, this wine can be yours for a mere $14.40 per bottle by the mixed case, and yes, this wine is dense, jammy, packed with dark fruit & everything you’d expect of a limited production red. Sourced from Elk Vineyard in Lodi under the supervision of Markus Bokisch from Bokisch Vineyards fame, this wine was finished by Bruce Walker of Starry Night. Aged for 14 months in American oak, this wine has all the complexity of a $30+ bottle of Petite Sirah. Hurry, as the 500 cases made will surely not last long.
