Only in his 30's, Joel Gott is among the hottest rising stars in California winemaking. When he's not making great wine, Joel keeps busy with at least four other businesses, including the Palisades Market in Calistoga and Napa Valley's hottest burger stand, Taylor's Refresher, where Robert Parker recently enjoyed one of his "Most Memorable Meals." Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon Blend No 815 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from many different viticultural areas of California: Napa Valley, Lake County, Central Valley, Lodi, and coastal regions. The wine is a deep ruby purple in color with a beautiful nose of blackberry, cassis, plum and spicy oak. Full in body, it is bright and assertive with lean tannins and rich flavors of blueberries, black raspberries, plums, and mocha. The wine was aged 15 months in French and American oak, 25% new. Well structured and complex, it offers beautiful balance and a long lasting, smooth finish.

Why "Blend No 815?" The 2003 release was named in honor of Lucy, oldest daughter of Joel and Sarah, born on August 15, 2003, just in time for the madness of harvest. The tradition carries on with the new 2006 vintage.
