"TOP 10" in a February 20th, 2008, New York Times article for the 2005 vintage: "Lingering flavors of ripe cherry and flowers."

The New Year Times writes, in an article entitled "Chianti Steps Out of Its Straw Skirt:" "For the tasting, we restricted ourselves to Chianti Classico, the historical Chianti zone. We focused on basic Chianti Classicos, ignoring the more expensive riservas, which I often find to be more oaky as a result of misguided star treatment."

It is precisely in this context that the 2005 Geografico, from one of the most successful vintages in recent memory, really shines.

The 2009 now follows in its footsteps. Abundant ripe fruit, fine balance, supple tannins and immediate drinkability are the constants in this Chianti Classico, particularly in the 2009 vintage. The berry-cherry & spice flavors and citrusy acids fold easily into the silky mouthfeel and the fine tannins extend the smooth finish.
