Funtanaliras Vermentino di Gallura is estate-bottled by Cantina del Vermentino in Monti, Sardegna. Vineyards were first planted here in the Middle Ages by the Phoenicians and the Vermentino grape brought from Spain in the 1600’s. The Vermentino di Gallura appellation was granted DOCG status in 1996. This 100% Vermentino is a beautiful expression of the varietal.

Funtanaliras Vermentino di Gallura is light straw yellow with tinges of green. It is medium-full in body, crisp and dry, with a nose of peaches, apples, quince, acacia blossoms and bitter almonds. Rich and complex, this Sardinian white offers flavors of peaches, apples, quince and almond, with no oak. Beautifully balanced to enjoy now and over the next 4-5 years, it is clean and lingering on the finish.
