A mere 500 cases of 2006 Drake's Bay Mendocino Chardonnay were produced in the inaugural vintage, finished by a star winemaker for a very small boutique California winery.

An amalgem of the best of both new world and old world attributes, this Chardonnay is quite a wine at the price of more ordinary Chardonnays. Ripe yet crisp, minerally yet fruit driven, it simply bursts onto the palate with pear, apple, citrus and stone fruit flavors, followed by long mineral and peach tones on the finish with just a hint of vanilla from new oak.

Even if you're generally a Sauvignon Blanc drinker, this is a Chardonnay you will enjoy. Drake's Bay Mendocino Chardonnay makes a great companion with chicken, fowl, pork, salads, veal, shellfish, and even spicier cuisine. Be the first to savor this very limited release!
