A little-known fact, at least in the US, is that nearly half of all Chassagne Montrachet produced is in fact red. Among those red Chassagnes, Domaine Joseph Belland's 2003 Premier Cru "Clos Pitois" truly shines.

From a great vintage and a great vineyard site, this Red Burgundy has a wonderfully nuanced flavor profile that makes great Pinot-Noir-based reds so special.

Domaine Joseph Belland is one of the most famous and highest quality producers in the Cote de Beaune, with Joseph's son Roger now the driving force behind this power-house property.

Bing cherry and raspberry flavors interplay nicely with acidity in this highly structured, concentrated yet utterly charming wine.

2003 Domaine Joseph Belland Chassagne Montrachet Rouge Clos Pitois is an ideal complement to duck, veal, pork chops, salmon as well as spicier fare.
