AS WRITTEN IN THE MAY 11, 2007 WALL STREET JOURNAL about the 2004: "VERY GOOD".

Chateau Tournefeuille is perched on a magnificent slope with a wonderful view over Pomerol’s plateau. Clay basins and rocky outcrops alternate like pebble beaches. This is a gorgeous red wine from the Lalande de Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Rarely in Bordeaux, especially right-bank Bordeaux, do ultra high quality and sensible selling price coexist in the same wine—Tournefeuille is one such exception.

Chateau Tournefeuille Lalande de Pomerol is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. It is dark ruby red in color with a perfumed nose of strawberry, blueberry, plum and vanilla oak. Dry, medium-full in body with moderate acidity and smooth, silky tannins, this big red offers rich flavors of plums, blueberries, black currants, vanilla and spice. Aged 12 months in oak barrels, 1/3 new. Smooth and seductive, beautifully balanced, it should be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years. The wine's finish is complex and satisfying.
