Situated in the district of Leognan, Chateau de France, a member of the Union of Bordeaux Grands Crus, belongs to the prestigious appellation Pessac-Leognan, created in 1987 and uniting sixty great chateaux and domaines located in 10 districts.

The terroir of Chateau de France is privileged to be situated on chalky clay subsoil; Bernard and Arnaud Thomassin are determined to continue to restore the domaine to the VERY pinnacle of quality, fully reflective of the appellation's prestigious image.

A blend of 40% Merlot and 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2005 Chateau de France Red is a very deep garnet red color, with a delicate nose of light oak, toasted bread and berry jam. On the palate, the aromas are reproduced in perfect balance and freshness.

Impressively long on the finish and classically styled, 2005 Chateau de France is the perfect accompaniment to rich meats, such as beef, lamb and roasted game.
