Anime Valpolicella is made by winemaker Leonardo Bugatti from grapes sourced from the Veneto region in northeast Italy. “Anime” means “souls” in Italian, hoping to capture the soul of a moment in good wine. This Valpolicella is a blend of 3 red grape varietals: Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella.

Anime Valpolicella is intense brick red in color with a nose of blackberries, candied fruit, cedar, leather, chocolate, and spice. Medium in body, soft and smooth with light tannins, this food-friendly red offers flavors of black raspberry, black fruits, cedar, coffee and spice, with no oak. With far greater intensity than ordinary Valpolicella thanks to 25% Ripasso content, 2009 Anime Valpolicella is nonetheless round and smooth on the finish, to be enjoyed now and over the next 5-6 years.

Anime Valpolicella is a great accompaniment to osso bucco, roast lamb, steak, lasagna, and hard cheeses.
