The 2007 Vigne Irpine Greco di Tufo begins with a nose of peach, bitter almond, pear and apple it turns to white fruit with hints of honey and almond on the lingering finish. This Greco is a perfect sipping wine and compliments a wide array of dishes.

Vigne Irpine is named for Irpinia, part of the Campania region, where grapes have been cultivated for millenia. Established in 1999, the company is dedicated to the preservation and improvement of traditional, native grape varieties.Greco is probably the most famous white grape of southern Italy, but it probably denotes more than one sub-variety, all presumably descended from the Greek parents which were brought to Italy by its earliest non-native colonists. The same root appears in similar varietals names such as Grecanico (Sicily) and Grechetto (Umbria).
