Inniskillin Icewine is Canada's gift to the world's enophiles. Inniskillin Winery was founded in 1975 by Donald JP Ziraldo and Karl J Kaiser in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Their 1989 Inniskillin Icewine forever placed the wines of Canada on the world map by winning the Grand Prix d'Honneur at Vinexpo in Bordeaux.

While the concept of eiswein began in Germany, the Canadians have admirably embraced and perfected the art. The grapes used to make icewine are left on the vine into December and January. The ripe berries are dehydrated by the constant freezing and thawing over the winter. This process concentrates the sugars, acids and extracts in the grapes, giving icewine its intense flavors and remarkable complexity. Do yourself an enormous favor and indulge in this elixir from heaven!

Inniskillin Icewine Vidal is deep gold in color with a surreal nose of lychee nuts and stone fruit. It fills the mouth with intensely sweet flavors of tropical fruits, peach nectar and mango. Yet the wine's sweetness is balanced by an acidity that leaves a clean, dry finish on the palate. Well balanced to enjoy now, this icewine will age and increase in complexity for up to 25 years in cellar. In its youth, the wine is fresh and clean on the finish. With age it approaches a nectar, lingering longer on the palate.
